How to get compensation from Delta for tarmac flight delays?

According to Delta’s flight delay policy, If same-day Delta flights are unavailable to your destination, it will reroute you to another airline at no additional cost. If you face any standby list for a later flight on the same day, Delta will ensure your baggage arrives at the same time you do.  

Applying Delta’s policy When a Flight is Delayed

Suppose you are not booked automatically after getting the delayed flight notification. Contact a Delta agent to know whether it is the Airline’s fault or some external issue; there are various ways to speak with them: chat feature on the app, Delta customer service number, or customer service desk at the airport. Talk to the supervisor calmly because communication is often productive when you act calmly. 

Additionally, secure all flight-related documents like flight tickets, luggage tags, etc. If you acquire the cost of transportation and meals, take the receipt; you may have to submit it for reimbursement later.

If you expect to be delayed till the next day, ask a Delta representative about your stay and travel vouchers. Delta places its passengers in a hotel near the airport with which they have a contract.

If the hotel runs out of space, delta provides an alternative hotel and travel coupons. Save your hard copies and complain on Delta.com. Once you reach your destination, Delta will contact you in 30-60 days to acknowledge and respond to the complaint.
